Ok so in my last blog I talked about the task of choosing inventory as a boutique owner. Put together a plethora of inventory options with this momma fashionista wannabe, and you’ve naturally created a shopping monster =p I would be completely lying if I said I wasn’t shopping for myself too…I mean who wouldn’t lol! But seriously, if you’re trying to break a major shopping habit and own a boutique at the same time…the struggle is REAL lol!!! Don’t ask me how much inventory I’ve kept for myself already…because I’ll probably just lie =p I better behave or else my hubby may have to do the shopping…and not sure y’all would want that lol!
Now I may be stating the obvious, but I find that the funnest yet the most incredibly challenging task of owning a boutique is choosing what type of inventory to stock. You generally have a “theme” or “feel” of what you want your boutique to have but you continually wonder 1.) Will shoppers like what i choose? 2.) What will set my boutique apart from others? 3.) What colors in that item should I get…and how many? And the list goes on. And like anything else, you’ve got a budget to follow. But on the “fun” side, the journey to finding the perfect pieces for your potential shoppers is on-going excitement; keeping up with trends & looking for things that are unique to your boutique are rewarding tasks that will keep you busy & motivated to find good products that your customers will enjoy. On that note, I would love to get feedback from you all on what type of fashion items you would like to see in our boutique in the future! Drop me a comment or send me an email…look forward to seeing all your ideas!
Today, I can truly, happily, and thankfully say that I am officially a business owner! I just completed the last task into establishing my company. With pretty much no business background, the process seemed quite intimidating and overwhelming…I get this form from where? And that form for what? I mean, I just wasn’t sure I could do it myself but at the same time I also wasn’t sure I wanted to pay $$$ for help from the professionals. But with some research and great advice/pointers from a few helpful individuals (whom I’m so grateful for!), the process is all done! Can’t say I can sit back & relax now because this journey of mine has only begun and there’s TONS to do, but y’all, I own my own business…feels surreal! If you truly have the passion and believe you can do something, anything is possible so go for it! Hope to inspire those I come across with in this new venture of mine!
